Rental Terms & Conditions

1. Rental Agreement

By placing an order with The Edit: Designer Hire (“The Edit”, “we”, “our”), you agree to be bound by these Rental Terms & Conditions.

 

 

2. Eligibility to Rent

Customers must:

  • Be 18 years or older

  • Provide accurate billing/shipping information

  • Meet any verification requirements requested by The Edit prior to dispatch

We reserve the right to cancel any booking where fraud or misuse is suspected.

 

 

3. Rental Period

  • Rental periods begin on the confirmed delivery/collection date selected at checkout.

  • Rental periods end on the stated return date.

  • Items must be returned in accordance with the return instructions provided.

Late returns may incur additional charges.

 

 

4. Security Deposit / Card Authorisation

  • A refundable security deposit is required prior to dispatch.

  • This may be used to cover damage, loss, theft, excessive cleaning, late return fees, or breach of these terms.

  • Any unused held/deposited funds will be released/refunded after inspection.

 

 

5. Condition of Items

All items are inspected and quality checked prior to dispatch.

Minor signs of wear consistent with normal rental use may be present and do not constitute damage.

Customers accept the item in its dispatched condition upon receipt.

 

 

6. Customer Responsibilities

While in your possession, you agree to:

  • Handle the item with reasonable care

  • Keep the item secure and protected from avoidable damage

  • Not alter, repair, clean, or attempt to treat the item yourself

  • Not lend, sub-rent, or transfer the item to another person

 

 

7. Damage / Staining

If an item is returned damaged, stained, altered, or requiring repair beyond normal wear and tear, The Edit reserves the right to charge:

  • Cleaning fees

  • Repair costs

  • Partial replacement value

  • Full replacement value where the item is deemed irreparable or significantly damaged

Assessment of damage is at the sole discretion of The Edit.

 

 

8. Loss / Theft / Non-Return

You remain fully responsible for the item until safely returned and received by The Edit.

In the event of:

  • Loss

  • Theft

  • Non-return

  • Return of counterfeit/substitute item

The Edit reserves the right to charge up to the full retail replacement value of the item.

 

 

9. Late Returns

Late returns may incur fees of £10 per day until the item is returned.

Where a late return impacts a subsequent booking, additional charges may apply.

 

 

10. Delivery & Returns

  • Customers must use the return packaging/label provided.

  • Proof of return postage/collection should be retained.

  • The customer remains responsible for the item until it is received by The Edit.

 

 

11. Cancellations

More than 4 days before dispatch:

Full refund / store credit available.

Less than 2 days before dispatch:

Cancellation fees may apply.

No refunds are given once an item has been dispatched.

 

 

12. Right to Refuse Service

The Edit reserves the right to:

  • Refuse or cancel bookings

  • Request further verification

  • Decline future rentals where prior misuse has occurred

 

 

13. Limitation of Liability

The Edit is not liable for:

  • Indirect/consequential losses

  • Delays caused by couriers outside our control

  • Event disruption caused by delivery delays, force majeure, or customer misuse

 

 

14. Authenticity Guarantee

All items supplied by The Edit are guaranteed authentic.
